In a futuristic Brazil ruled by a populist dictatorial government and inhabited by a society that cannot have children, but that fulfills the desire to be fathers and mothers by adopting their children in a government program that divides society into classes. Raquel and João, hotel maid and baker, respectively, married, lower-middle class, decide to adopt their daughter, but fail to reach a consensus on choosing the name under which they will register her, revealing a relationship of subjugation and contradictions in a Brazil that feeds Patriarchy and Social Oppressions.
