IT’S THE SMALL THINGS

By Yzaih Phénix-Alphonse

"It’s The Small Things" is a story about Dorothy, a young black woman studying Journalism, and her experiences with microaggressions. In this short documentary, Dorothy gives us an insight into what it was like to be part of a supposedly progressive and multicultural city and educational environment while being a young black woman. Dorothy takes us on a journey from her first interest in journalism, to her first experiences with microaggressions, and finally to her plans of never letting these obstacles come in her way. Attending Concordia University and getting involved with different organizations and media platforms, Dorothy does her best to be a voice that'll help improve the condition of black people everywhere.
